The Beatport app also lets EDM fans buy tickets for shows.

Online dance music retailer Beatport has launched a new mobile app for iOS and Android, designed to complement its recently launched streaming service.

The Beatport app now allows users of its free streaming service to listen to tracks on their mobile devices. It also features access to Beatport Shows, a calendar of events with integrated ticket purchasing, tying nicely into parent company SFX Entertainment’s concerns in the live music sphere.

The new app isn’t the first time Beatport has launched an app – in 2010 it released an iPhone app, allowing users to browse, listen, and add music to their cart on the go. The app has since been removed from the App Store.

The Beatport app should be available on iOS and Android platforms later today. [via The Verge]
