The rap legend follows the footsteps of N.W.A.

Master P will return to the film (and/or video) world with Ice Cream Man: King of the South, a biopic that charts his rise from the Calliope Projects to the top of the music industry.

The film is written by Master P himself, Parde Bridget and Wayne Conley, but director and casting details have not yet been released. Master P’s No Limit Films produced a handful of videos in the late-90s and early-00s, but it’s unclear if the company is behind this as well.

Ice Cream Man: King of the South is due in theatres next Spring. Watch the teaser trailer (comprised of archival footage) below. FACT’s Claire Lobenfeld reviewed N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton and praised it as a true summer blockbuster. [via Complex]
