Surgeon returns to Blueprint Records this week with four tracks of tactile, slow-burn techno abandon.

The EP is being released as part of label’s 20th anniversary celebrations and arrives almost two decades on from Anthony Child’s first appearance on Blueprint, a collaboration with label bosses Outline (James Ruskin and Richard Polson).

The EP takes in pummelling basement action (‘Search’), bleeping sci-fi terror (‘Deep’), some adaptable deep and tracky business (‘Inside’) and an explosive percussion assault (‘Yourself’).

It’s typically essential fare from the Brummie techno hero – stream it in full below ahead of its release on Friday, February 29.

The EP arrives just a few weeks after the first Surgeon album in five years, the astronomy-inspired From Farthest Known Objects. Last year he blended field recordings from Maui with modular synth workouts on an album released under his own name.
