The singer is the latest high profile star to show support for Kesha.

Taylor Swift has donated $250,000 to Kesha following the singer’s legal battle to be released from her contract with producer Dr. Luke.

“In a show of support, Taylor Swift has donated $250,000 to Kesha to help with any of her financial needs during this trying time,” a spokesperson told E! News.

The donation was later confirmed by Kesha’s mother via Twitter.

Swift is the latest high profile star to show support for Kesha, whose recent civil lawsuit alleged that the producer was abusive for the duration of their 10-year professional relationship.

The New York Supreme Court denied Kesha an injunction that would release her from the contract on Friday (February 19).

“You’re asking the court to decimate a contract that was heavily negotiated and typical for the industry,” said New York Supreme Court Justice Shirley Kornreich.

The judge said that Dr. Luke’s $60 million investment in Kesha’s career “decimates your argument,” adding, “My instinct is to do the commercially reasonable thing.”

Other stars who have shown support for Kesha include Grimes, Lorde, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga and Fiona Apple.
