Myron Yarde aka MDot died in hospital after a knife attack.

Novelist has paid tribute to an aspiring 17-year-old MC who was killed in New Cross, south-east London last night (April 3).

Myron Yarde, who went by the name MDot, was found dying from a stab wound after police were called to reports of a fight. Two boys aged 15 and 16 have since been arrested in connection with the killing.

Lewisham MC and producer Novelist and Peckham rapper Giggs were among those who paid tribute to Yarde on social media, with the former speaking of how he’d hoped to help him with his music in the near future.

One of Yarde’s teachers also paid tribute to the MC on Twitter, describing him as a “super talented guy” destined to go on to big things.

As well as having fans in Novelist and Giggs, the artist regularly collaborated with fellow south-east London MCs IQ and Slimzy.

Friends of Yarde have started a GoFundMe page to raise money to cover the costs of his funeral.
