The rapper says he’s parting ways on good terms.

iLoveMakonnen is no longer signed to Drake’s OVO Sound label and will move on solely with Warner Bros. The rapper’s career has had some speed bumps the label signed him and rereleased his breakthrough EP in 2014. His star-studded debut album has been continually delayed and he’s previously expressed frustration at a lack of communication. That seemed to be improved last month when the rapper alluded to resolution and an upcoming OVO group album, but now the exit seems very final.

“I cannot thank OVO, 40, Oliver, Future & Mr. Morgan, enough for all that they have done for my career. No words can express how much I appreciate Drake for being a part of the success of Tuesday,” he begins in a statement to Pitchfork, stressing that “there’s no beef to report”.

Through Warner Bros., Makonnen released the recent Drink More Water 6 and rereleased his self-titled EP. Yesterday he released ‘Can’t Let It Go’, a collaborative track with Lil B and hinting at a tour together later this year. Listen to it below.
