The rapper reportedly punched a doorman at the club he was hosting his BET Awards after-party.

Lil Wayne reportedly assaulted a doorman at Hyde club in Los Angeles last night following the BET Awards, according to TMZ. They report the issue arose during an afterparty hosted by 2 Chainz and Wayne, when members of the latter’s entourage were turned away at the door. This led to the alleged altercation that resulted in a trip to the hospital for the bouncer and a battery report for the rapper.

Though both sides agree there was an altercation, the stories differ greatly. Sources say Wayne punched the bouncer in the face following an argument about his friends’ entrance to the club, while Wayne’s camp claims the bouncer mistakenly grabbed the rapper’s arm before later apologizing. They say he worked in their VIP section all night.

Earlier this month, Lil Wayne had to make an emergency plane landing after suffering a seizure. He recovered and was back on stage performing two days later.
