Don’t worry it’s a “thank-you letter”.

Head Carrier, the first Pixies full-length album since Trompe Le Monde was released 25 years ago, will include a song about former bassist Kim Deal sung by her the band’s newest bassist, Paz Lenchantin.

In a recent interview with BBC Radio 6, Frank Black revealed that Lenchantin was only willing to sing on the new record if Black wrote lyrics for her. According to Black, she said: “You have to write about Kim Deal… like a thank-you letter.”

Head Carrier was announced earlier this month and is slated for release on September 30 via their imprint Pixiesmusic on Play It Again Sam.

Its first offering ‘Um Chagga Lagga’ was recently rated by Singles Club.
