“The Cool Kids together is what is right in the world.”

After deciding to call it a day in 2012, Golden Age-loving hip-hop duo The Cool Kids have sounded the fanfare for their return.

Earlier this morning (July 14), group member Chuck Inglish tweeted that he called musical partner Sir Michael Rocks and “realized nothing would feel better than us being the originators again”. “The Cool Kids are back for real,” he declared, before adding, “we missed being us.”

He continued: “We refuse to let people down and not be the actual group. We’ve been through too much. We really felt like we hadn’t really finished what we started. They took our styles and ran off. We coming back for it all.”

Inglish says that the Illinois pair will start making music as soon as he has finished the solo album he is currently working on.

The Cool Kids have not released a project together since their 2011 studio album, When Fish Ride Bicycles.
