Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor and frequent collaborator Atticus Ross are set to be soundtracking the Boston Marathon bombing film Patriots Day. Stereogum points out that director Peter Berg (Battleship, Deepwater Horizon) announced via Instagram yesterday that he “couldn’t be more honored than to be working with these two straight up genius artists” for the film’s score.
Reznor and Ross have previously worked on the films The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Gone Girl. Their most recent project was a piece of music that celebrated NASA’s Juno Mission to Jupiter. They’ve also collaborated with Mogwai and composer Gustavo Santaolalla to soundtrack Leonardo DiCaprio’s climate change activism documentary Before the Flood.
