Plus Troxler, Bjarki, DJ Koze and more.

As we revealed last week, London is getting a new venue – and it’s absolutely huge. The 5,000-capacity Printworks in Canada Water, just south of the river, is being billed as an “experimental, multi-purpose cultural destination” designed to house theatre, exhibitions and food festivals as well as clubbing.

The venue team has now announced the world-class artists who will grace its opening series in 2017, with Nina Kraviz, Daphni, Ben Klock and Seth Troxler among the DJs testing out the state-of-the-art rig and lighting.

Printworks’ debut series will include partnerships with London promoters The Hydra, Berlin’s Klockworks and German festival Melt. Also billed are Kim Ann Foxman, Joy Orbison, Bjarki, Jeremy Underground, DJ Koze, Motor City Drum Ensemble and live sets from Dopplereffekt and Max Cooper. See the A-Z list of artists below and look for full listings on December 7.

The opening series of shows will take place midday to 10.30pm each Saturday in the soundproofed Press Halls area of the former newspaper printing facility, with the opening party scheduled for February 4, 2017. Register for priority tickets on Printworks.

“Its been a hell of a journey to try and put this together but the end result is something we’re proud of and excited by in equal measure,” said talent booker Will Harold. “The line-ups each and every week represent a different take on where London is at musically.”

Underlining the venue’s community ethos, Local SE16 residents will also benefit from 50 free balloted tickets to all events at Printworks. Find out more about the building’s transformation in our feature.

Update, December 8: Printworks has unveiled the full line-up for its opening series.

The launch party on February 4 will be headlined by a back-to-back headline set from Seth Troxler, Loco Dice and The Martinez Brothers.

Running at a limited 2,500 capacity for the debut series, presale tickets starting at £22.50 will be available from 6pm on Thursday, December 8, with general sale tickets available to purchase from midday on Friday, December 9.
