The lo-fi-leaning label and distro now has a bricks and mortar operation.

Lobster Theremin, the imprint and distribution company run by Jimmy Asquith and home to Imre Kiss, S Olbricht, and Daze, will open its first record store tomorrow (January 21) in London.

Located on on Sidworth Street in London Fields, Lobster Records will stock records from the couple of hundred labels handled by Lobster Distribution, as well as “an array of tapes, merch, zines and bits and bobs.”

As RA reports, the shop itself offers a record wall, four listening stations and a 60-tape rack with a Sony tape deck, underlining the outfit’s taste for vintage and lo-fi sounds. The shop also plans to host in-stores and other events, so keep an eye on its Facebook page. Online orders from the label can also be collected in-store.

The shop opens to the public at 11am on Saturday, before closing up for two days and reopening on Tuesday, January 24, when it’ll be open seven days a week.

Last year the label launched an ambient offshoot, Lobster Sleep Sequence.
