But it’s not their upcoming album.

Sigur Rós have released a silent trailer for an upcoming project that may be called “Norður Og Niður”.

The link in the YouTube description takes you to an email sign-up page that only offers “Soon…” as far as further information goes. A rep for the band confirmed to Pitchfork that the teaser is not hinting at an upcoming album release date, so what could it be?

“Norður Og Niður” translates from Icelandic to “North and Down” in English. Could it be another tour? A performance at the North Downs?

Sigur Rós recently released their own low dose weed edibles inspired by “flavors of foraged Icelandic berries”. Hey, maybe “north and down” is the description of a high and the band is about to jump deeper into cannabis industry. (But for real, we have no idea what they’re doing. It’s just fun to guess.)
