To mark the release of a new Jason Molina biography.

Songs: Molina – A Memorial Electric Co. – the members of Magnolia Electric Co. who reformed in 2013 in tribute to their former bandmate Jason Molina – are heading out on tour.

The tour dates have been announced to coincide with the release of Erin Osmon’s authorized Molina biography, Jason Molina: Riding With the Ghost. For the tour, Osmon will perform readings from her book, while the live shows will feature guest musicians and storytelling from the band, as Pitchfork reports. See the full tour dates below.

Molina’s country-rock project Magnolia Electric Co. debuted in 2005 with the Trials & Errors live album. They went on to release three studio albums, including Fading Trails in 2006 and culminating in the Steve Albini-produced Josephine in 2009.

According to its publishers Rowman & Littlefield, Jason Molina: Riding with the Ghost details “Molina’s personal trials and triumphs,” while revealing “the true story of Molina’s last months and works, including an unpublished album unknown to many of his fans.”

The iconic and prolific US singer-songwriter passed away in 2013 as a result of organ failure, brought on by excess alcohol consumption.
