Coming this November.
Björk has revealed the title of her upcoming ninth album. It’s called Utopia and due in November via One Little Indian.
The Icelandic singer revealed the news in a Facebook Live interview with Nowness where she said settled on the title after “a thousand name suggestions.”
“I think it’s going to be called Utopia. I can’t think of anything better,” she said. When asked if that was official by the interviewer, Björk smiles and says it’s always possible it might change.
“Well if I change my mind five minutes before the LP cover goes into print — that might happen,” she said. Last year the singer described the album as a companion to 2014’s Vulnicura.
“The last album, we sort of call it ‘hell’ — it was like divorce. So we are doing paradise now. Utopia,” she said. Last month, she described it as her “Tinder record”.
Last night Björk released the first song from Utopia, ‘The Gate’. Listen to it below.
