Music from Kuedo is also featured in the film.

Flying Lotus has composed the score for a new animated short film called Blade Runner 2022.

Written and directed by Cowboy Bebop’s Shinichiro Watanabe, the film is a prequel to the forthcoming Blade Runner 2049 sequel and is set in 2022. The soundtrack also features music from Kuedo and Miguel Atwood Ferguson.

Tweeting about the news, FlyLo said: “seeing Blade Runner imagery set to my music was a beautiful feeling.” Take a behind-the-scenes look at the animation below.

Blade Runner 2049 hits cinemas on October 6 and stars Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling. Jóhann Jóhannsson had initially been hired to score the soundtrack, but he has now been totally removed from the project. Composers Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch were taken on earlier this year to write additional music.
