Kevin Shields revealed the news in an interview with Pitchfork about the forthcoming all-analog Loveless reissue. He said that they had begun recording the LP a year ago, but had to keep stopping in order to focus on the reissue.
“The last time we worked on it was a month or two months ago,” he explained. “I’m still hovering over this project until it’s basically in manufacturing, then it’s back into the album. Finishing it.”
Shields promised that the album will “one hundred percent” be out next year and that it will be at least 40 minutes long. “But I don’t really know how many tracks it’s going to be. It’ll probably be seven or eight, by the looks of it.”
He also revealed plans for MBV to play live again, which he noted is “always a really good way to guarantee that we’ll get the record done.”
