LuckyMe’s resident troubadour has teamed up with Jacques Greene for, of all things, a Sade cover.

Fellow Canadians Ango and Jacques Greene have been co-conspirators for a while now. As well as providing vocals on Greene’s ‘Flatline’, Ango is also a member of the latter’s live set, and the two both put out records on the LuckyMe imprint. The mutual backscratching continues on Ango’s cover of Sade’s 1992 mega-hit, with Greene helping out with production.

It’s a fairly faithful reading, augmented by Greene-esque synth pads and the occasional skittering trap-rap hi-hat. Ango’s vocal tilts a little too far towards melodrama, but it’s undoubtedly an interesting elaboration of the pair’s respective sounds. A short video promo for the song, which definitely falls under the NSFW umbrella, has also been uploaded.
