The latest Hidden Depths event focuses on Rinse FM.

A collaboration between Tiger Beer, Black Atlantic and FACT, Hidden Depths is a series of events that aims to explore the side of some of the UK’s most celebrated labels that fans don’t always see. Past events have focused on Ninja Tune, Hyperdub, Hospital and Numbers, and the fifth and final party hones in on the London underground’s premiere former pirate radio station.

Rinse FM has been on the cutting edge of UK street music for almost two decades, providing a breeding ground for jungle, garage, grime, dubstep, UK Funky and more through both its radio schedule, its associated events (most notably FWD>> at Plastic People) and its record label, which has housed music by Trim, P Money, Katy B, Zinc, Roska and more.

Hidden Depths presents Rinse showcases various generations of the station: DJ Zinc, a long-running part of the Rinse machine and a mainstay of UK dance music since the mid-1990s – check his recent FACT mix for proof – headlines, with support from UK house playmaker Brackles. Grime is represented by both ex-Roll Deep vocalist Trim, who’ll be releasing his debut album on Rinse next year, and new talent Faze Miyake, while Circle’s Tippa represents for the ironed shirts crew.

The show takes place on November 22 at Concrete, on the corner of Shoreditch High Street and Bethnal Green Road: it won’t be lost on long-term Rinse listeners that this is a deliberate choice, given the station’s background – not to mention current base – in East London.
