Wot you call it, slow-fast?

Last month, FACT’s Laurent Fintoni talked about the juxtaposition of slow samples and quick percussion that producers like Om Unit have been using in their recent drum’n’bass productions, and although ‘IMO’ – a new track from Young Turks’ resident masked man SBTRKT – is far from jungle, it uses a similar blend of lightning-fast drums and slow, almost JRPG-esque melodies. In fact, it reminds us a little of Friendzone, which is far from a bad thing. Check it out above.
