Berlin-based producer Lotic on life and art in a post-Trump world

Berlin-based Texan producer Lotic isn’t afraid to make a statement.

When Donald Trump was elected US President on November 8, his response the following day was a daring and defiant rework of Beyonce’s ‘Formation’ that gave strength to any fans suffering a sense of panic or fear. His button-pressing and boundary-pushing goes back way further than that, though: his 2015 debut EP, released on Tri Angle, was unlike anything else that year had to offer, while there’s a rebellious streak to his thrilling mixes too, maybe best evident on his 2014 Damsel In Distress. To call the artist born J’Kerian Morgan a provocateur is an understatement, basically.

With new music incoming, we caught up with Lotic at last month’s NikeLab x Acronym release event to ask about life, love and art in a post-Trump world, also getting a sense of where his exciting live show is headed next.

Filmed at The Store, Berlin.
