Hessle Audio’s Ramadanman has soundtracked Nike’s new film, Cadência.

Cadência is directed by Daren Bartlett, and delves in to his “deep and long lasting love” for Brazil’s football culture, and the way it reflects the “rhythm and true spirit” of the country.

The press release continues as such: “Cadência – unveil it. Unveil the rhythm, unveil the dance. Unveil the spirit of Rio’s sports and cultures. Unveil the wizardry of a football game, a place to hug, celebrate, cheer, vibrate. Unveil the most intense poetry in motion – be it a match, be it flying a kite, be it the mystery of Clovis – unveil it through the words of academics, artists, legendary footballers and, last but not least, those of ‘o povo’, the people, wonderful everyday visionaries.”

The film will be explored via a “truly immersive” exhibition taking place from March 25 to April 25, at 1948, Arches 477 – 478 Bateman’s Row, Shoreditch. The exhibition will include an exclusive 5.1 Surround Sound installation also by David Kennedy (Ramadanman) and Adrian Corker, and art stills by Jiwon Park.

Given that Ramadanman has been exploring the more ambient side of his music lately – as tracks like ‘Bleeper’ from his forthcoming double-vinyl EP for Hessle show – this makes a lot of sense for us. It’s not the first time Hessle Audio have been involved in projects like this; last year the label’s Pangaea and Joe soundtracked a theatre production by ex-FACT intern Felix Mortimer.

In other Ramadanman news, the producer has a new single due out for Will Saul’s Aus label, which features two collaborations with Midland, titled ‘Your Words Matter’ and ‘More than you Know’. Midland will be releasing a three-track EP on Phonica later in the year.
