On June 21, London’s Thisisnotanexit label will release its Summer Sampler 2010.
The four-track EP features Faze Action’s remix of Hatchback’s ‘Jetlag’, a new collaboration between The Dark Esquire and Club Silencio called ‘You Got To Look’, Urlaubshits’ remix of Detachments ‘The Flowers That Fell’ and Moscow’s version of ‘Hello’, the debut track from Command V, whose line-up features members of The Bush Tetras and B-52s. Check out the original version of ‘Hello’ here.
This release will be available at Juno Download as an exclusive for two weeks before hitting all other download stores. There are also plans to give the tracks a vinyl release depending on fan support:
“For people with a predilection for the black plastic stuff we are trialling a new platform called Pledge for this release. The release will be available whatever happens via download stores but this won’t be available in record stores. If people want to own the Thisisnotanexit Summer Sampler 2010 on a very limited 12″ (of 100) that won’t be in shops then all people need to do is follow this link and pledge £10. They will only get charged your £10 if 100 people all pledge £10 otherwise the vinyl release doesn’t go ahead. This means that people have the power to make this happen or not!”
On June 25, Thisisnotanexit continues its monthly residency at The Drop in Stoke Newington, London, with DJ sets from Spectral Empire and Simon A. Carr and a live set from Detachments. They’ll be giving away a special Spectral Empire CD to the first 50 people to arrive; more info on the night here.
