Wifey takes to The Alibi this Friday with Marcus Nasty, Burgaboy, Deadboy and more
London clubnight Wifey will try out a new location this weekend in Dalston’s Alibi club. Headlining is Marcus Nasty, the Rinse FM DJ who’s been close to the top of the UK Funky hierarchy since the sound’s conception. Recent Nasty sets feature a mixture of his own productions, tracks representing the Midlands’ UKB micro-scene and exclusives from the more well known London Funky producers, and are invariably great.
Nottingham’s Illmana and Manchester bassline house touchstone Burgaboy also play, as does Slackk, who’s beginning to receive enthusiastic recognition for his fusion of classic house and grime music, and the sort-of-mysterious DJ T€ARJ£RK£R.
Entry is free, and proceedings run from 9pm-3am. Wifey will also take over the Big Chill House, Kings Cross on July 24, with sets from UK garage pioneer B15 Project, UK house trailblazers R1 Ryders, Crazylegs DJs, DJ Laizi and more. That’s free entry before 10pm, £5 afterwards.
