Post-punk survivors Gang Of Four will release a new album on October 4.

Entitled Content, it contains 11 tracks, including the 2008 single ‘Second Life’. The Leeds band’s first original studio LP since 1995’s Shrinkwrapped, Content is being released thanks to the financial assistance of fans, who were invited to contribute funds through Pledgemusic.com earlier this year in exchange for limited edition tapes, vials of members’ blood and other paraphernalia.

Gang of Four are best known for their stripped-down, politically strident debut album Entertainment! (1979), arguably the definitive British post-punk full-length. The current incarnation of the group is founder members Andy Gill (guitar) and Jon King (vocals) plus Mark Heaney (drums) and Thomas McNeice (bass).
