Teengirl Fantasy – the American duo of Nick Weiss and Logan Takahashi – will release their debut album, 7am, through Merok/True Panther in September.

Comprised of nine new tracks, 7am is Teengirl’s first official release since 2009’s Merok 7″ ‘Portofino’/’A New Image Every Day”, and features a guest appearance from Light Asylum‘s Shannon Funchess on ‘Dancing In Slow Motion’. The only other vocals on this largely instrumental record come from Weiss.

Talking to FACT last year, Weiss and Takahashi claimed to take inspiration from Chez Damier, Mr Fingers, Fabio Frizzi scores and absurd ’83 Italian B-movie Yor, The Hunter From The Future, going on to describe their own music as “glowy electronic shoegaze with deep bass thumps and vocoders put through delay pedals”. What’s not to like?
