Soul Jazz‘s Universal Sound imprint will reissue Give Me Your Love, the one and only solo album by Sylvia Striplin, on September 16.

First released in 1981 by Uno Melodic, original copies of this super-rare boogie-funk and soul album changed hands for around £200. It was produced by Roy Ayers, who also produced the amazing Ladies of The Eighties LP by Striplin’s group Eighties Ladies (Soul Jazz reissued that album earlier this year). Described by the London-based label as a “a rare groove holy grail”, Give Me Your Love features the classic singles ‘Give Me Your Love’ and ‘You Can’t Turn Your Love Away’; the 2010 edition has been remastered, with the original artwork retained and the vinyl version pressed on heavyweight double-LP and housed in deluxe heavyweight card.
