Belle & Sebastian will release a new album, Belle & Sebastian Write About Love, on October 11 via Rough Trade.

It’s the band’s eighth studio album, the follow-up to 2006’s The Life Pursuit, and their third full-length outing for Rough Trade. The album was written in Glasgow in February of this year, and then recorded in LA with producer Tony Hoffer at Sound Factory Studio B.

The album will be released on CD, digital and vinyl. The vinyl edition comes with a bonus 7″ featuring the tracks ‘Suicide Girl’ and ‘Last Trip’; there’s also a digital bonus track, ‘Blue Eyes Of A Millionaire’.

Stuart Murdoch leads as usual, but there are also songwriting and vocal contributions come from Sarah Martin and Stevie Jackson, while none other than Norah Jones sings on three tracks. Strings come courtesy of LA’s Section Quartet

The album’s title track, with vocals by British actress Carey Mulligan, is available now as a free download.
