Night Dolls With Hairspray finds the maddeningly prolific American artist going deeper into his hypnagogic fetish for power-pop, bubblegum punk and degraded MTV culture, and it’s certainly a punchier if more erratic offering than his last OESB release, the gloriously expansive Last American Hero. Fans of Ariel Pink and Ducktails ought to take note as ever.
