The latest edition from The Trilogy Tapes, the cassette label and design imprint operated by London’s Will Bankhead, is a mixtape by Kassem Mosse made in collaboration with Joy Orbison and Impey’s Doldrums label.
It’s a two-sided mix on cassette, limited to a mere 100 copies and available now for £7 including postage worldwide; the tracklist is, as far as we know, undisclosed [Update: Side A is a live recording of Kassem Mosse from a recent-ish Doldrums night at Plan B, Side B is the same thing in reverse].
German house producer Kassem – real name Gunnar Wendel – is best known for his releases on Workshop and Omar-S’s FXHE. His remix of Braiden’s ‘The Alps’ came out on Joy Orbison’s Doldrums label this week.
The Trilogy Tapes has been issuing cassettes, both mixtapes and original recordings, since 2009 – including entries by Black Lodge, I.U.D., Vom Grill and Peoples Coke. Its next planned mixtape is by Hessle Audio’s Ben UFO.
As well as curating The Trilogy Tapes, Bankhead – who first rose to notoriety with his work for Mo’Wax – is currently in-house sleeve designer for Honest Jon’s, and continues to contribute artwork to other projects, most recently Doldrums.
