Lift to Experience – ‘These Are the Days’

If you haven’t heard of Josh T. Pearson then you’re probably not alone.

Pearson found minor fame as frontman of the short-lived Lift to Experience, one of the greatest cult bands of the last decade, with only one album, the fantastic Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads, to their name. John Peel invited them to record three Peel Sessions in the space of five months, which should tell you something.

Since then, Pearson hasn’t done a lot, playing sporadic live shows and only releasing one studio recording, a split 7″ with Dirty Three (though there’s at least one fan-recorded live “album” available). He also appeared on Bat for Lashes’ ‘Trophy’, from last Lashes album Fur and Gold.

This Spring, he’ll release his first full solo album, Last of the Country Gentlemen on Mute. We don’t have a release date yet, but we’re dead excited. Check the tracklist below, and if you know what’s good for you, listen to Lift to Experience’s ‘These are the Days’ above. Then, hopefully, you’ll be excited too. Or not.
