OK, so there is some value in the experience of being stuck in a muddy field with 20,000 people, but let’s face it: the problem with most festivals is that they’re just too sodding big. And too sodding muddy, come to think of it. Which makes the very intimate 500-capacity SunSplash festival very appealing indeed.
Intimacy isn’t the only thing SunSplash has going for it; not by a long stretch. Taking place in and around the luxurious Hillside Su Hotel in Antalya, on the Turkish Riviera, this boutique gathering offers a breathtaking beachfront setting and basically guaranteed sunshine. Sand stands in for mud. The musical line-up ain’t too shabby either: this year the mighy Theo Parrish is joined by Gilles Peterson, Norman Jay, Mad Professor, Phil Asher, Rainer Truby, Kon & Amir, Benji B, José James live and many more to be announced.
Accommodation inclusive packages start from £225 per person for 3 nights or £525 per person for 7 nights in a double room – including breakfast and dinner each day, use of spa, sauna, gym and all special workshops such as yoga and music seminars.
