On April 18, the Barbican, London, will play host to Ryoji Ikeda.

Ikeda, who lives in Paris, is one of the world’s premier sound artists, experimenting deep into the intricacies of sine tones, sub-frequencies and noise since the early nineties. He’ll be presenting an audio-visual project titled datamatics [ver 2.0], in which he aims to “explore the potential to perceive the invisible multi-substance of data that permeates our world.

“Using pure data as a source for sound and visuals, datamatics combines abstract and mimetic presentations of matter, time and space to create a powerful multisensory experience – unrivalled in its technical sophistication.”
