Snoop Dogg will headline this year’s Lovebox festival, performing his 1993 album Doggystyle in its entirity.
Even better, he’ll be joined by Kurupt, Daz Dillinger and Warren G, key figures in the classic album’s cast who’re all apparently friends again. This obviously sounds great, and we will definitely be there, but we can’t help but hope for a couple of surprise appearances on the day – surely RBX and the Lady of Rage can’t be up to much these days? And it’s not like Dre will be working on Detox if the sun’s out.
Update: RBX and the Lady of Rage weren’t mentioned in the press release, but are on the posters. Score.
Further down the line-up for the three-day festival, which takes place annually in Victoria Park, you’ll find performances from The Drums, Katy B, Scissor Sisters, Marc Almond, Robyn, Kelis, Blondie, The Wombats, Mark E, Metronomy, Groove Armada present Red Light, Floating Points, Ame, Sebo K, Appleblim, Motor City Drum Ensemble and Beardyman.
Ed Banger and Hospitality will both curate stages, the former’s consisting of sets from Busy Pictionary (Busy P and So Me, who’ll be creating live artwork on stage while Busy P DJs), SebastiAn, Cassius, Carte Blanche and Uffie, while the latter bring High Contrast, David Rodigan, London Elektricity, Danny Byrd, Starkey, Sigma and more.
Rinse FM meanwhile, will make their first UK festival appearance hosting a stage, with Skream, Plastician, Roll Deep, Zinc, Kode9, Roska, P Money, Ms Dynamite and more stopping in.
Tickets are available now from the Lovebox homepage, with day tickets priced at £28.50.
