Everything Everything have been added to the line-up of Lounge In The Farm 2011, joining the previously announced likes of Katy B and Graham Coxon.

The pop vocally acrobatic pop sensations join the Rinse-signed UK house/pop diva and Blur axeman on a swelling bill that also includes Jamie Woon, The Streets, Cornershop, Ellie Goulding and post-punk-misanthropes-turned-stadium-gloom-pop institution Echo & The Bunnymen. Example, arguably the natural heir to Mike Skinner, brings his brand of self-deprecating hip-hop, while there’s full-frontal rave action from Stopmakingme, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Annie Mac, Scratch Perverts, Plump DJs, and a Hospitality showcase featuring Netsky, Danny Byrd, London Elektricity, Nutone & Natalia Williams, Cyantific and Prototypes.

While LOTF 2011 – taking place July 8-10 – has a more pronounced dance element to it than previous editions, guitar-slingers of all kinds continue to form the festival’s bedrock. There’s an impressive haul of new talent alongside some more familiar names: The Joy Formidable, Egyptian Hip Hop, Slow Club, Laura J. Martin, Pete & The Pirates, Dananananaykroyd and Johnny Flynn are some of the stand-outs. Though if we’re completely honest, the thing we’re looking forward to most is a set from none-more-proggy prog-rock legends Caravan.

There are stages hosted by Moshi Moshi, Rockfeedback, Chess Club, while the festival’s Main Stage has been revamped, and now has a capacity of 4000. The Cowshed, the former main stage, will become The Hoe Down – a 2000-capacity tent with a walloping soundsystem fitted to host the various dance acts and DJs on the bill. There’s also a brand new stage this year, the Meadows Stage, designed in collaboration with Further.

Born in 2004, Lounge In The Farm has established itself as one of the UK’s most charming medium-sized festivals. Decidedly family-friendly, it takes place on a real working farm and has an emphasis on locally sourced produce – hell, the burgers sold on site are made from the very cows you see chewing cud around you. The farm is Merton Farm in Canterbury, Kent, and it’s only an hour’s train ride from central London.
