Luke Abbott reveals 'Free Migration' from forthcoming Wysing Forest LP and adds UK tour dates

Border Community synth maven achieves lift-off on new album cut.

Norfolk producer Luke Abbott has shared another stunner from his “spiritual jazz-inspired” second album, Wysing Forest, ahead of its release on June 23.

Exploring deeper, fleshier ground than previous cut ‘Amphis’, the bustling ‘Free Migration’ is intended as the peak that marks the mid-point of the new album.

Along with that, after selling out his St. Pancras Church gig set for June 26, Abbott has announced two new London dates later this year. The first takes place at Cafe Oto on November 11 with handpicked support from No Pain in Pop’s Karen Gwyer, who released the excellent Needs Continuum LP last year, and Norfolk’s Laura Cannell, a fiddle and recorder player who performs improvised, ancient and experimental music.

The second show, at the Vortex Jazz Club on November 12, features support from saxophonist Jack Wylie of Portico Quartet, with another guest to be announced soon. Check out the full list of tour dates below.

Tour dates:

Sat 21 June – Totnes South Devon Arts Centre
Mon 23 June – Glasgow Mono
Wed 25 June – Manchester Kraak Gallery
Thu 26 June – London St. Pancras Church (sold out)
Tue 11 Nov – London Cafe Oto w/ Karen Gwyer + Laura Cannell
