filter-dread 6.15.2014

Yung space cadet Filter Dread has spent his last few releases – amongst them an EP on Lost Codes and the Space Loops cassette on No Corner – exploring the territory between jungle breaks, grime and airlock ambience.

On MIDI Space, his new EP for Ramp, he unleashes the excellent ‘Space Compartment’, a Filter dub that’s been doing the rounds for a while now, as well as wonky darksiders ‘Clowns from Outer Space’ and ‘MIDI Filter’ and the celestial grime of ‘Stolen Dub’. Closing track ‘Trippy Patterns’ sounds like rescuing a Source Direct record from the sea and setting the quantise to random, while ‘Jungle Ambience’ will appeal heavily to fans of Lee Gamble’s Diversions set.

MIDI Space is out on June 23, we’re premiering the full stream below.
