“VOTE IN if you don’t want your future condemned to the Dark Ages,” writes Throwing Shade.

Tomorrow (June 23), the UK will vote on whether to remain in or leave the EU.

Many artists and DJs, including Four Tet, Geoff Barrow, Midland and Holly Herndon, have voiced their support for Remain, with London producer Midland calling the referendum “the most important vote of our generation.”

UK music is expected to be gravely affected by an exit from the EU in a number of ways, with British musicians potentially having to apply for visas in order to travel within Europe and import/export tariffs being be re-introduced on recorded music.

With this in mind, Universal Music UK Chairman David Joseph and Beggars Group boss Martin Mills yesterday urged their employees and fellow music industry members to vote Remain. And last week, Mogwai’s Stuart Braithwaite called culture secretary John Whittingdale a “fucking moron” for his claim that a UK exit from the EU would not have a negative effect on British artists around the world.

Voting closes at 10pm tomorrow, with the results coming in around 7am the following day. Find your nearest polling station and see a selection of the Remain supporters below.
