The techno brothers put all their influences into a blender on a mix of all-original material from their new project.
Techno brothers Tessela and Truss have shared a 25-minute mix of unreleased material from their Overmono project.
Otherwise known as Ed and Tom Russell, the duo made their debut as Overmono with an EP on XL Recordings earlier this year, sporting a more experimental sound with shades of classic IDM.
Having made their name with slamming peak-time techno for the floor, the duo’s new Water The Planets mix shows the full extent of the Russell brothers’ new project, moving from ambient through deconstructed rave and jungle.
“Despite doing some live shows together and the fact that we’re brothers, we hadn’t ever really written music together and wanted to start something new,” the duo said of the project.
Tessela and Truss will be making their live debut as Overmono at London’s LN:CC venue this Friday (October 14) as part of a night curated by the pair. They’ll also be appearing at Krakow’s Unsound Festival on October 21.
