From Ono to Oh No: the ever-interesting producer/rapper has a new LP on the way.

Oh No (who, it’s worth noting, is Madlb’s brother) hails from Oxnard, and has made his name with a string of quirky, high-concept hip-hop releases. 2007′s excellent Dr No’s Oxperiment was stitched tougher exclusively from samples of old European and Turkish funk rarities. 2009′s Dr No’s Ethiopium turned to East Africa for inspiration, and this year’s OhNoMite was 100% assembled from snatches of 1975 blaxploitation movie Dolemite.

As Potholes In My Blog note, Oh No is gearing up to release a collection of unreleased instrumentals and guest features from the vaults, titled Disrupted Ads. A host of impressive guests are promised for the record, including vintage hip-hop outfit Souls Of Mischief, Stones Throw polymath Georgia Anne Muldrow and rapper Blu. Alchemist, Declaime, MED, Rapsody and Jurassic 5’s Chali2na are also on board.

Kash Roc Entertainment will release Disrupted Ads on January 29. A short trailer for the album is available below, accompanied by some reliably punchy boom bap.
