Legendary California producer and all-around rap tycoon Dr. Dre is being sued by Paramount Recording Studios for over a million dollars.

According to Paramount, Dre and his record label Aftermath Entertainment rented Paramount’s studio from April 2009 until June of 2010, but never paid up for it. Earlier this week on July 23, a lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, attempting to sue the rapper / producer for $1,200,500 over breach of contract.

Dre had apparently agreed to settle the bill by July 13 of this year, but failed to do so. Guess he was doing the same thing he’s done for the past five Julys – working on Detox.

In more hip-hop legal news, DMX is apparently going back to jail for a driving offence. The Ruff Ryders leader’s lawyer has confirmed to AllHipHop that X surrended to authorities in Los Angeles yesterday to begin serving a three month prison sentence after violating the terms of a 2002 probation for a reckless driving charge.

In the lawyer, Aja M. Southern’s words, “this is one of many steps towards rebuilding his image and rapport with the community and his loyal fans.” X was only released from prison earlier this month after serving four months in Arizona.
