Indie juggernauts The Arcade Fire have announced an arena tour of the UK.

The band released their long-awaited third album, The Suburbs this Monday, and made headlines by playing (and simultaneously streaming online) two shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden. Terry Gilliam directed the stream, while Spike Jonze took care of the promotional video. We can’t see them being up for doing the next FACT night.

The tour comprises five shows in December, starting at London’s O2 Arena and closing at Glasgow’s SECC. In the process, they’ll take in Birmingham, Cardiff and Manchester.

Tickets will be on sale at 9am this Friday, August 13, from the outlets specified below.
