Several legends of British electronic music will perform at two Back To The Phuture’s live events in December, joined by a supporting cast of DJs and producers who have been significantly influenced by them.

On Thursday 2 December at Manchester’s Academy 1, Gary Numan and Cabaret Voltaire’s Richard H. Kirk will be playing live and DJing respectively; there will also be live sets from Recoil (former Depeche Mode member Alan Wilder) and Motor. The following night, Thursday 3 December, at London’s Troxy, Numan, Kirk, Recoil and Motor will be joined by John Foxx and “very special guests” TBA. Wall Of Sound boss and Back To The Phuture mainman Mark Jones hosts and DJs on both nights.

Back To The Phuture began as a radio show on BBC 6 Music in 2009, and it’s main function has been to trace the line between electro-pop founding fathers such as Foxx and Numan and the contemporary sounds of LaRoux, Little Boots, Hurts and so on. It was BTTP that commissioned the collaboration between La Roux and Heaven 17 at the Beeb’s Maida Vale studios, and guests of the show to date have included Daniel Miller, Phil Oakey, Steve Strange and August Darnell.
