Jeff Mills will next month release a new album entitled The Power [via Resident Advisor].
Apparently it’s part of the same sequence as his last previous two LPs, The Sleeper Wakes and The Occurrence, which were both very sci-fi in feel (even by Mills’ wacky standards).
According to a press release: “Traveling four years throughout the Universe in search of discoveries has taken its mental toll and the price of an intervention is high. This album demonstrates the process of a person who gradually loses their sense of belonging. Obscure illusions brought on by an unique ability to control Electricity contracted in The Occurrence chapter creates an unwarranted threat to the world’s International Security. Severe detachments evolve that pushes the mind beyond acceptable limits.”
Good ol’ Jeff. The album will be released in a limited edition through Mills’ own Axis imprint; you can preview one of its tracks, ‘The Exchange’, right here.
