Don’t trust anyone who doesn’t have soft spot – guilty or otherwise – for Energy 52’s ‘Café Del Mar’.

The trance anthem has apparently been remixed by Ricardo Villalobos for a 12″ release on Electric Circus.’Lobos as knocked up two versions, a dub which focusses on the ’93 track’s kinetic, unyielding bassline, and a 9-minute ‘main’ mix which takes that infamous, irresistible melody and puts it through the minimal grinder. The results are, it has to be said, quite pleasing  (check out clips below), though neither mix can hold a candle to the original in all its balls-out, cheesily transcendent glory. Ahem.

The remix 12″ is due to be released on May 21.
