Sonar continues to expand its global presence with its largest non-Spanish event yet.

On May 11-12, São Paulo’s Anhembi Parque will play host to over 50 shows, running the gamut from the brightest electronic stars through to local musicians. The action will be split over three music stages (SonarClub, SonarVilalge and SonarHall) and numerous other spaces, and there’s an embarrassment of riches to enjoy.

Kraftwerk, fresh from their stint at New York’s MoMA, will be bringing their new 3D show south of the border. James Blake will be toasting a banner eighteen months, and Brainfeeder boss Flying Lotus will be dropping snatches of his forthcoming new record. Mogwai will take a break from scoring films to make an appearance, and Squarepusher will also be touching down. DOOM, Four Tet, Cee Lo Green, Jeff Mills, Little Dragon, Rustie, Modeselektor and James Pants are among those making the trip.

Plenty of homegrown acts are also due to appear. Gui Boratto is the biggest of the Brazilian names, with Ricardo Donoso, Gang Do Eletro and Nedu Lopes also on the ticket. As ever, there’ll be cinema screenings and high-tech exhibitions to enjoy too. Full line-up details, times and ticket information are available from the Sonar Sao Paolo website.
