Q-Tip, never a slouch, has been a particularly busy bee.

As HipHopDX report, the former Tribesman is stepping behind the boards for a couple of interesting folks. The rapper revealed that he’s doing production work for D’Angelo, currently prepping his first record since 2000’s spectacular Voodoo. Q-Tip also revealed that he’s filing instrumentals for Black Hippy bright star Kendrick Lamar. Lamar is currently working on his first studio LP, Good Kid In A Mad City.

Q-Tip’s also working with jazz inflected singer Ledisi, not to mention his own album. Although primarily known as frontman of A Tribe Called Quest, Q-Tip has clocked up some totally classic production credits, including Nas’ Illmatic and last year’s Watch The Throne. Tip also recently signed to Kanye’s G.O.O.D music label. A new album, tentatively titled The Last Zulu, is due in 2013.
