Patrice & Friends drop their third album of sunset footwork, Cherry Sorbet

Patrice & Friends emerged in September 2011 with a series of YouTube videos that accompanied the project’s music – a sample-heavy blend of footwork with old soul, boogie and funk – with footage from (presumably bad) ’80s films.

It quickly emerged that the project’s Patrice was London-based grime producer Slackk, with debut album Cashmere Sheets proving one of the year’s most enjoyable albums. We’re still not sure who the friends are. A second album, Champagne Saunas, appeared on Valentine’s Day 2012, and now, on Halloween morning, we have the project’s third instalment, Cherry Sorbet.

Less obvious in what it samples than Cashmere SheetsCherry Sorbet is nonetheless free to download. Track titles include ‘Patron on Deck’, ‘Barmaid’, ‘On the Rug’ and ‘303 Girls’, so you already know it’s going to be worth checking out.
