Lou Reed was back in hospital over the weekend just a month after receiving an emergency liver transplant.

The Velvet Underground singer and guitarist was rushed to a Long Island hospital following an emergency call for an adult male suffering from dehydration.

So far no official statement has been made, but a hospital worker in the unit where Reed was being treated told the New York Post,”Everything’s fine.” [via Exclaim]

The avant-rocker was taken ill 10 days after making his first public appearance since the transplant at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, where he dissed Obama and told an audience that masturbating is the key to creativity.

A few days after the transplant Reed had also posted a statement on Facebook calling himself “a triumph of modern medicine, physics and chemistry.”

Update: As Rolling Stone  has been released from hospital. The singer returned home yesterday afternoon following treatment over the weekend.
