Prince teases collaboration with Kendrick Lamar at Paisley Park album launch

Compton export popped up on 3RDEYEGIRL track played at Paisley Park.

Kendrick Lamar rocked up to Prince’s home studio last night for launch of the funky one’s pair of new albums, Art Official Age and 3RDEYEGIRL’s PLECTRUMELECTRUM.

According to Yahoo, which hosted a live stream of the event, Art Official Age’s co-producer Josh Welton revealed a collaboration with Lamar during a segment in the studio when he played a 3RDEYEGIRL song that included a verse from the rapper – annoyingly that clip doesn’t seem to be available to watch.

Lamar then joined Prince on stage during the first song of a 20-minute live set for a guest verse – Stereogum has identified it as ‘What’s My Name’, a rarity from Prince’s 1998 box set Crystal Ball. Watch the clip in the player below, and see more in Yahoo’s report. [via CoS]

Prince did a Facebook Q&A with fans yesterday, with hilarious results.
